Xbox 720????

Or so they say that is what it's going to be called. I don't know about you guys but I'm excited about it. PS4 was announced but I can care less about that...but anyways...


"According to Crytek's senior technical designer Sean Tracy, the Xbox 720 is reportedly codenamed "Durango." Previous reports referred to the next Xbox as "Loop." Microsoft explains that IllumiRoom “augments the area surrounding a television screen with projected visualizations to enhance the traditional living room entertainment experience” and “can change the appearance of the room, induce apparent motion, extend the field of view, and enable entirely new game experiences." Kinect captures the geometry of a room and adapts projected visuals “in real-time without any need to custom pre-process the graphics.”

In a video demo shown off during Samsung’s keynote, Microsoft showed off several different applications of the technology, noting that the footage was “captured live and is not the result of any special effects added in post production.”

IllumiRoom appears to be the realization of the immersive display experience Microsoft patented last year, which aimed to make gaming “more realistic” and eliminating “out of context images” that sit next to your TV.

Whether or not IllumiRoom will tie-in with next Xbox or the next generation of Kinect remains to be seen, but Microsoft says more details will be revealed at the ACM SIGCHI Conference in Paris in April."

All of that is certainly speculation for now, this king of information gets left on the cutting room floor just like the the boomerang control for ps3. I think the biggest thing gong on with the xbox is the fact that they are starting to integrate online purchases to replace hard copy games.

I think this is going to work to our advantages since the cost to produce a game will drop and in turn will also drop the price. I hope. Steam is using this technology already and according to Game Informer, they are now releasing a new console.

I'm still excited about a new console b/c it's about time I upgraded mine lol I'm just dying to know what it will bring.
