Gears of War

I haven't played any of the games but my brother is getting the new one next week. I tried playing Gears of War 3 but my Xbox wasn't reading the disk. Should I play the first 2 in order to get the story for GoW Judgement?

Yeah in order to really understand the story start with GOW1....I enjoyed the story line but for someone that played GOW1 Multiplayer i got more and more upset with the game...but the story is great.

GoW1 & 2 are much better than GoW 3 IMO. But yes, in order to get the most of the story of the campaigns playing them in order is recommended.

GoW couch Co-op was so good, it may have a shallow story but the game play in the first 2 was really solid.

Never a fan of the story. I felt that that the controls in part two were to sticky. I distinctly remember getting frustrated because my character would not get off the wall.
